The community is fairly new, having just started development in 2002. As of 2009, there were 4,599 residents living in the neighbourhood.

The Evanston real estate area is bound to the west by Symons Valley Road, to the south by Beddington Trail, and the Municipal District of Rocky View to the north.

Evanston Community Association

The Evanston Creekside Community Association presents a variety of programs with women's soccer being among the top ones. There are plans for the construction of a skating rink and Nose Hill Park, which is renowned for its gorgeous grasslands, walking trails and diverse wildlife. If you’re a golfer you’ll have your choice between four golf courses in the local area including Harvest Hills and The Hamptons. 

Evanston Neighbourhood Schools

Buyers of Evanston homes will find there are a number of schools that parents and their children living in the community can select from. The high schools include James Fowler, Notre Dame and William Aberhart, which also offers French Immersion programs. The choice of junior high schools includes St. Margaret and Madeleine d'Houet. French Immersion programs are available at Georges P. Vanier. The elementary school options range from St. Bede and Cambrian Heights to the bilingual St. Pius and King George, which has French Immersion Programmes.
